Custom built Picture frames
All frames are custom built for each individual artwork and include a selection of appropriate frame moulding, backing board, and glass. Matboards and various types of glass are optional.
The Standard Range of frame mouldings include natural grain, white and black options. Most of these mouldings are 20x20mm on the front and side and so are thinner and narrower, meaning a float mount cannot be done in these frames.
The Premium Range of natural grain timber frame mouldings are unique to Theia Pictures as they have been machined from ethically sourced Tasmanian timbers, and include celery top pine, myrtle beech, silver wattle, blackwood and eucalypt. All of the timber used to make these frames have been salvaged from clear felled logging coupes in Tasmania’s south. It is timber that would have burnt if it wasn’t salvaged. The appropriate species of wood is matched up to the individual artwork. These frame mouldings come in two different sizes, 40x20mm, and 20x40mm (front and side of frame). This means a wider frame is available, and a deeper frame is available, which allows for float mounts and exhibition grade pictures.
